The current C.E.O and President Doc Bailey founded "Doc Bailey Construction Equipment Inc." in 1986. Originally two companies were started, the first Being "Doc's Mobile Diesel Repair" for diesel service work and the other "Bailey's Water Trucks" was used to handle various kinds of water truck rentals. These two companies were combined in 1988 to form Bailey Truck and Equipment, which was then again changed in 1995 when the sole proprietorship became a California corporation.
The corporate headquarters is based in Oakland, California and regularly performs its services throughout the Western United States, Pacific Islands, Canada and Mexico. Doc Bailey Construction Equipment specializes in Crane Rentals, Crane Repair, Crane Sales and Crane Operator training.
As of 2016 Doc Bailey Cranes and Equipment of Hawaii was apointed the Link-Belt distributor for Hawaii and the Pacific Islands.
