In 1940 our company was launched with two pieces of equipment and four employees. The founders had only an idea and some ideals. The idea was that the future pointed to a need for mobile cranes, which could move over streets and highways on rubber tires to solve lifting and material handling problems. The ideals were that a company could prosper if it made a policy of delivering the best possible service at the most economical price.

Today the Allingham Corporation has over a hundred and fifty cranes and air compressors in our fleet. We are the largest privately owned company in the United States that specializes only in the rental of cranes and air compressors.

What sets us apart from most other rental companies is how we approach every crane rental project with the same meticulous attention to detail. We review the scope of your job. We discuss your needs and any potential problems or concerns. Then we develop a cost-effective way to complete the job within your budget. Planning and preparation are critical. It is important to us that we make sure you have the right equipment for the right job. Finally, we make sure the equipment is at your site and ready to work when you are.

Our tireless commitment to customer satisfaction has led us to being involved with the construction of some of the most well known structures in the metro Detroit area. We helped build Tiger Stadium- the old ballpark and Comerica Park- the new ballpark. We raised the first steel column at Metro Airports' McNamara Terminal and we raised the roof on the Pontiac Silverdome.We've had a hand and a crane in most of the major construction projects in metro Detroit for the past 70 years. Allingham cranes helped build Ford Field, the Palace of Auburn Hills- as well as numerous industrial parks, office complexes and highways.
