1988 National 666A Boom Truck Crane

In 2015, the crane was torn down to the Rotec.  Rebuilt the turn gear, inspected and reassembled the Rotec, rebuilt the boom.  The winch was not rebuilt but works fine.  The crane, a National 1988 666A, is in excellent shape. 66 ft main and 25 ft jib, A2B warning device, hose reel.  The crane is set up for "Occasional lifting over the front," which means the bed is filled with concrete as counterweight.  Truck is old (1977) with many miles (630,000) but a lot of work has been done on it: Rebuilt Cummins (not sure of year), good oil pressure, rebuilt the rear end (front one), all new brakes, rubber is good to excellent, new steering box, new front springs, the electrical (which was a nightmare) has been completely redone. Dual axles. This would be an excellent crane for someone who isn't going to put a lot of miles on the truck: A yard crane, a contractor who keeps it on a job for several weeks, etc.  This is one tough crane, built in the days when the safety factor was in the steel, American made.  Like most old cranes, it will tip before it breaks.
